On a chili day at the USATF XC Preview meet, our cross country team gave the association a preview of what is to come for the rest of the season. Leading the way for us in the Bantam Girls race was Faith Hill. She finished 5th overall with an impressive time of 13:29. Right behind her was Rayevan Freeman in 6th place finishing in 13:41. Rounding out our Bantam Girls was Mya Solomon finishing 13th in 14:41. Faith and Rayevan finished in the medal count (Top 10) and brought home the hardware for their performances.
In the Midget Boys (11-12 yr old) division, Nasir Muhammad finished 10th place, adding to the Premier Athletics medal count with a personal best performance of 12:11.07 for the 3000m distance. And rounding out our team performances were Alexia Wilson and Sam Wells in the Youth (13-14) division. Alexia finished 5th overall with a personal best of 17:15.59, and Sam just missed the medal recipients, but also finished with a personal best of 15:46.59 for the 4000m race.
"If this is any indication of how we will perform the rest of the season, all our athletes will qualify for the USATF Regional XC Championship and make the trip to Myrtle Beach. I was very happy about they way everybody ran yesterday. It's a great indication of what's to come", said Coach Charles Muhammad.
