June 11th-14th, 2015
Carrollton, GA

The first step in qualifying for the AAU Junior Olympics began in Carrollton, Georgia in the Georgia District Championship. Forty seven teams and nearly 1,000 athletes convened on Carrollton High School to compete for the right to advance to the Regional Championship and National Qualifier in Taylors, SC in two weeks.

The team came away with five medals in this championship, and advanced all athletes competing to the Regional Championship. Faith Hill competed in four events and led the way for Premier Athletics. She captured the 800m Run title, was Runner-Up in the 400m Dash, and also captured the Bronze medal in the 200m Hurdles. In the 400m dash and 200m hurdles, both were career bests. She also advanced in the 200m Dash.

Mya Solomon also captured a Silver medal in her Runner-Up finish in the 1500m Run. Her 5:16.93 was a career best in this event for her. Mya also advanced in the 400m Dash (5th), 800m Run (4th), and the 200m Hurdles (8th). The other medalist was Morgan Jennings, in the Long Jump. Her jump of 10-08 was good enough for a Runner-Up finish in the event. Morgan also advanced in the 400m Dash, and produced a career best of 32.48 in the 200m Dash to advance in that event.

On the Boys side, Jevon Leonard and Samuel Wells also qualified for Regionals. Jevon produced career bests in the 800m Run (2:14.55) for 6th place and the 1500m Run (4:50.12) for 4th place. Sam advanced with a 5th place finish in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:04.09.

"We're happy that our entire Junior Olympics roster has qualified for the Region Championship, and are progressing towards their best performances in the coming weeks. If we can continue our momentum, we'll realize most of our goals this season.!", said Coach Charles.
