One of the culminating events to the spring track season is the Georgia Middle School State Championship. Hosted by SMART Meet Management, this event has grown to unprecedented heights as the premier Middle School event in Georgia. Open to clubs and Middle School teams, this event has grown in popularity and prestige, and is now truly considered
"The" Georgia Middle School Championship. Premier Athletics took its middle school athletes to compete against the best in the state, and even in the country, as we looked to again show that our athletes are also some of the best around.
The team came away with five medals. The individual medal came from Faith Hill in the 800m Run. Her Bronze medal finish came from a season best 2:24.61 finish against two of the best in the country. The additional four medals came from a team effort in the Girls 4 x 400m relay. With a dramatic come from behind victory in their heat, they posted the 2nd fasted time of the day, even though they weren't placed in the fastest seeded heat. "We owe it to Coach Ray for this one! He wanted to put that relay together badly, and it appears he had tremendous foresight...because the effort they put forth was tremendous! It was deemed by many 'the race of the day'!", said Coach Charles.
